Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Tom graduated from the University of Missouri in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He then received his law degree from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in 2019. During law school, Tom was a member of the Arbitration Moot Court team, finishing as a regional runner-up in 2018 with fellow DZN attorney Jesse Farler. He now serves as the team’s coach. He also served as the Articles Editor on the school’s Journal of Animal and Environmental Law.

Before entering private practice, Tom worked at the Louisville Metro Public Defender’s adult trial division.

There, he defended hundreds of cases, representing clients on charges ranging from traffic citations to murder. Tom has experience representing clients in both state and federal courts. He also has experience working on the Plaintiff’s side of civil litigation, which gives him a unique perspective when representing our clients. Tom joined Dzenitis Newman to use his skills to advocate on behalf of Kentucky’s healthcare professionals, something he feels very strongly about.

Outside of practicing law, Tom enjoys cheering for his Mizzou Tigers and spending time with his fiancé Caitlin and his Corgi, Stevie.
